TREATMENT
Endodontology
Endodontology deals with the treatment of dental pulp (“the nerve”). Toothache is almost always caused by an acute infection of the tooth pulp. The goal of endodontic treatment procedures, which are completely painless, is to treat and protect the tooth and it’s root.
Periodontology
Periodontology deals with the supporting tissues of teeth and treats diseases and conditions that affect them. Some of the symptoms of periodontitis are:
— Sensitive, painful and red gums
— Bleeding gums
— Recession of the gums
— Bad breath
— Difficulty chewing food

CROWNS
There are several types of ceramic crowns, from metal ceramic and titanium ceramic to all ceramic crowns. All ceramic crowns are state of the art in current dental medicine. They mimic the natural tooth most faithfully and are best for the gums. They are fully biocompatible.
What do metal, titanium and zirconium in ceramic crowns mean?
All ceramic crowns are of limited firmness, which means that they cannot sustain great pressure (e.g. if they support some lost teeth within a bridge). In order to account for this, metal, titanium or zirconium substructures are used onto which ceramics are then applied. In this case, zirconium represents the best choice because it is in the color of the tooth, and it is not necessary to apply ceramic layers in order to hide metal or titanium. Moreover, zirconium enables illumination of the gums, just like in natural teeth, which significantly contributes to esthetics.
Ceramic crowns are used in order to:
- Replace a tooth destroyed by caries
- Replace broken or used tooth crowns
- Return lost esthetics
- Upgrade a tooth implant
- As a bridge support
DENTAL IMPLANTS
Nowadays the implant success rate amounts to around 98%, which qualifies this type of intervention among the most successful in stomatology. In cases of bone lacking, an artificial bone is added that entices bone tissue growth so that a full integration of the implant with surrounding tissue is achieved.
Implants consist of two parts:
- Implant – a titanium screw that is built into the bone by means of a smaller surgical intervention, and after growing in with the bone, the implant represents a replacement for the tooth root.
- Prosthetic upgrade – may be made from titanium or zirconium and serves as a connection between the implant and the ceramic crown (cover).
Each tooth loss may be a reason to build in an implant. In case of several teeth missing, bridges are made on the implants. In this manner, natural teeth are preserved and extensive prosthetic solutions are avoided. This means that the client receives a better quality and more comfortable prosthetic replacement that functions just as well as the natural tooth, thus contributing to better self-confidence and quality of life. In cases where all teeth are missing, implants enable the making of a fixed bridge or, depending on the situation, a prosthetic anchored in the implants.
